A-Z Challenge Day 2

Saturday April 2

Today I have used three neglected words:-
Bosky (a)  abundant in bushes, shrubs or trees.
Bombinate (v)   Buzz, hum.
Bifurcate (v) Divide into two branches.

Let me read it to you

Which way to turn? To my left a grassy dell, gently undulating, bathed in sunshine. But I turn to my right and enter the bosky coppice. I clamber, trip, tumble. I snag my clothes on vicious brambles but I carry on.

I follow a babbling brook. It bifurcates. I sit cross-legged between the two streams, my back to the divide. Which to follow? To my left the sparkling water gently flows, silver fish dance, bees bombinate. But I choose to wade the angry deluge to my right. I slip on rocks, I slide on slimy weed. The torrent froths, splashes, but  somehow I feel exhilarated, excited, expectant.

Life is filled with choices. I made mine. For without  venture, there can be no gain.

My next short story is called 'The Choir' and it embraces two neglected words.

If you missed yesterday's story, 'Whoopsie!', you can find it HERE

  2. I am familiar with the word bifurcate as it is sometimes used in medical terminology; the other two I honestly had never heard of before :) I do agree, life does need to have a bit of venture I do believe!

    1. You surprise me Shilpa. I would not have enjoyed life as much without adventure and the occasional risk! Mind you, that also explains certain things which I won't admit to in such a public place!

  12. Aha! Bombinate is the word for me. I know the other two. :)

Great story twined with the otherwise neglected words. Also, I totally agree with you on the last sentence "Life is full of choices. Without venture, there can be no gain". Awaiting the ramblings of "The Chair" :)
